First Tech Challenge Team #17456
What is FIRST?
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. Based in Manchester, NH, the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.

About Us
We are a community group of five eight graders from John's Creek, Georgia. This is our team's first year participating in First Tech Challenge. At Atlantis, we bring our mission statement of create, solve, and support to everything we do, whether it being constructing our robot or promoting FIRST to our community.

First Tech Challenge
In FIRST Tech Challenge, teams of kids grades 7-12 have 10 weeks to design, build, and program a 40-pound robot to compete in a challenge that is released every year. In the robot game, the red and blue alliance compete to gain the most points in 2 and a half minute match. Alliances consist of 3 teams, but 2 teams compete during the match.
